New £150m Green Power StationThe first power station in Britain run by residue waste has been given the go-ahead to be built on a 12 acre site in Hull.
The power station will create synthetic gas to substitute our own natural gas and will be fed directly into the National Grid, the Hull power
Is understood that the power plant will be powered mostly using local waste that would otherwise go into local landfill sites. It is believed that the new power station will produce enough energy to supply more than 25,000 homes which is around about a quarter of the city's population.
